Shiro

Shiro, or castle in Japanese, is a dramatic soaring space that immediately captures the imagination and stretches the senses. Its signature high ceilings and grand statues epitomize the essence of Shiro - a place where the finest Oriental cuisine and fabulous cocktails, coupled with the elegance and chic of the Zen-inspired interiors; present a dining experience like no other.

Launched in India on the 1st Nov 2006, inspired by the themes, cuisines and architecture from Indonesia, Thailand and Japan, Shiro is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Sanjay Mahtani and Jay Singh - also known for bringing the iconic Hard Rock Café to India in 2004. Their oriental brand, Shiro, is lavishly done up in a colour palette ranging from rust to caramel and is rendered in a unique combination of natural stone, wood, bamboo and velvet. The interiors are complemented luxuriously by shimmering lotus pools, plush furniture, and subtle lighting while the cuisine is a sumptuous array of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisines that includes a wide range of sushi, sashimi and Cantonese dim sum to tempt even the most discerning of palates. If that doesn't appeal to you, then perhaps the entertainment at one of its LIVE Teppanyaki tables might. Shiro offers the best of wines and signature cocktails with an Asian twist; all of this combined with exceptional service which is at par with International standards.

One of the amazing things to note about Shiro is how the mood starts off with a cool and chic dining experience but transforms as the night unfolds. The energy increases as guests watch the sophisticated restaurant transform itself into something akin to a club or lounge. It's impossible to ignore, and a pleasure to the senses. One can groove to some retro music every Friday, at their Studio 54 nights, which provides a full-on nostalgic experience tempting you to sing along to songs from the 70s to the start of the new millennium which include everything from Classic MO Town to Old School, the coolest dance tracks of the last few decades. Once you're done with the weekend, Shiro tempts you with their unlimited Signature Sunday Brunch where one can treat themselves to overflowing sparkling wine, LIVE grills, sushi, dim sum, stir fries and much more. Whatever it is that you are looking for, Shiro has got something for everyone.

Shiro has won a number of coveted awards in India for its spectacular dining experience and nightlife, and have hosted Celebrity Chefs from Master Chef Australia at their outlets. Renowned Chefs like Kiran Jetwa, Vikas Khanna, and Vu Dinh Hung have curated exclusive menus for Shiro in the past.

With roots in Lagos, it only made sense for co-founder Sanjay Mahtani to go international and launch Shiro in Lagos, Nigeria. Shiro not only prides itself on its signature food, cocktails and ambiance but most of all its service. Having won more than 20 awards across the country over the last decade, including The Times Food Guide's Best Pan Asian Restaurant in Bangalore multiple times, Shiro promises to live up to providing excellence and delivering the ultimate dining, lounging and clubbing experience. Shiro is not just a restaurant, a bar, or a club, it's an Experience!
